Administration.
Entry to the Nene Basketball League is by invitation and the competition is run by Nene Valley Basketball Club
who will organise the venue and officials for games.
Clubs pay a competition entry fee at the start of the season plus a match fee before the start of each game as
determined by The League.
In the event that a team fails to fulfil a fixture without reasonable notice then the offending team will be liable
for the entire match fee.
Teams must be submit a list of players to The League before their first game, this list can be added to as new
players join to a maximum of 14 for division 1 teams and 16 for division for division 2 teams. No new player can
be added to the list after January 31st.
Clubs with team in both divisions must nominate their top seven players who will only be eligible for the
division 1 team. The League may request changes to these nominated seven should it be deemed necessary.
Transfers between clubs require the permission of The League.
Fixtures.
Team fixtures will be notified to clubs and will be posted on the Nene Basketball League page at
www.nenevalleybasketball.com, results and tables will be updated following the games.
Division 1 games will be played under normal/current official basketball game rules.
Division 2 games will be played over 4 x 12 minute running clock quarters, with the clock stopping for time-outs
and during the last two minutes of the final quarter. Teams are permitted one time out per quarter, unused
time-outs cannot be carried forward.
Kit.
T-shirts under vests are permitted, but must be the same colour as the vest. Leggings/leg sleeves are not
permitted, knee protection can be worn but it must finish above and below the knee. Shooting sleeves, bandanas
or other head wear is not permitted. It is the responsibility of the Team Coach to ensure players are correctly
dressed.
Interpretation.
These rules are for the Nene Basketball League and may differ slightly to other local league competitons.
Where no specific rule is laid down reference should be made to the FIBA rule book however a final decision
will be made by The League.
