East Cambs Warriors produced their best game of
the season against Nene Valley Venom 2 which
makes their position at the foot of the table with
no wins quite remarkable.
Nene struggled to get going from the start but
Warriors couldn’t miss, making almost every shot that they put up and deservedly led 5-22 at the first break.
Nene recovered slightly in the second to reduce the
lead to 26-34 by half time but Warriors opened the
third quarter with a 2-9 run and led 42-47 heading
in to the fourth.
Consecutive 3s mid quarter gave Nene the lead
for the first time in the game and they went on
to win 61-55.
The win moves them back above Huntingdon
Masters at the top of the table but Sunday’s game between the top two has been postponed.
Nene Valley 1 play St Neots Storm this evening
and East Cambs are back in action against
Huntingdon Hawks on Sunday.
