Latest news......
Season concluson last night with the play-off final between Nene Valley Venom 1 and St Neots Storm.
The game was played with two officials and stopping clock as a precursor to possible format changes for
next season and it was a cracking game to finish with.
Both teams started well, exchanging baskets in the
early stages, before Nene finished the first quarter
with a 15-0 run to lead 23-11.
Storm responded in the second, winning the quarter
24-13 to trail 36-35 at half-time. They then
made the better start to the third before a 9-0 run
took Nene to a 55-50 lead heading to the fourth.
Storm opened with a 3-7 run to make it a one point
game and took the lead at 62-63 with two minutes to
play. With both teams in team fouls the final minutes were played out from the free throw line with
Nene coming out on top to win the game 67-64.
Well done to all the teams that took part and
completed the season. We play at this level for
fun and our enjoyment of the game and we need
to remember that whenever we step on the court.
